Thanjavur is full of temples of ancient architecture like Thanjapureswar Temple, AralmiguAiyaraapar Temple, Thanjavur Kamakshi Amman Temple, Rajagopalaswamy Temple, Vishnu Temple etc. Kumbakonam also known as Temple city has Airavareswara Temple, Adi Kumbeswarar Temple, Kumbakonam dedicated to Lord Shiva, Nageswaraswamy Temple, dedicated to Shiva, Sarangapani Temple dedicated to Vishnu, is one of the Divya Desams, the 108 temples of Vishnu. Kasi Viswanathar Temple, Arulmigu SwaminathaSwamy Temple dedicated to god Murugan, Kumbakonam Brahma Temple, Kampaheswarar Temple or kampa-hara-ishvarar dedicated to the god Shiva, Prathyangira Devi Temple dedicated to the powerful goddess Pratyangira or Narasimha. These two places is a must visit.




How to reach

Trichy airport is nearest to Thanjavur city and it can be reached by rail and by roads as well. Kumbakonam is easily reached from Thanjavur by car.
