Apple acquires classical music streaming service Primephonic

Primephonic will now no longer available for new subscribers and from September 7

The company Primephonic is a classical music streaming service which has been acquired by Apple for an undisclosed amount. The company said that with this purchase, the Apple Music subscribers will now get an improved classical music experience.

 

Oliver Schusser, the Vice President of Apple Music and Beats said, "We love and have a deep respect for classical music, and Primephonic has become a fan favourite for classical enthusiasts".

 

Primephonic will now no longer be available for new subscribers and from September 7 will be taken offline as Apple Music is planning to launch a special classical music app next year combining with Primephonic's classical user interface. The active Primephonic will be getting six months subscribers of Apple Music for free, providing access to all the features.
