Bhopal man modifies auto as ambulance amidst COVID surge

He even had to sell his wife's gold necklace for Rs 5,000 to buy an oxygen cylinder to turn this auto into an ambulance which he refuels with his own money.

Amidst the rise of corona cases in the country and lack of medical facilities a story of humanity has doing round the internet, where an auto driver in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal has turned his auto-rickshaw into an ambulance in order to serve corona virus patient.


 Javed Khan-an auto driver in Bhopal has fully converted his three-wheeler into a service ambulance, and he is providing the facility free of cost as a service to mankind amidst the devastating second wave of coronavirus pandemic.


His auto is fully equipped with necessary medical amenities like- oxygen cylinder, PPE kit, sanitizer and also an oximeter. Javed is now taking several patients to the hospital amid the Covid-19 crisis and is providing all the services free of cost.


According to Javed: "I saw a lot of people on social media, Whatsapp and news channels that several people are forced to carry their relatives on the shoulder or pull them on carts due to unavailability of ambulances. That is when I thought I could do something for humanity."
