Comet from distant space eying to visit Earth!

According to astronomers, the comet will be closest to Earth on May 8. It will come within the distance of 82 million kilometers from the green planet

A comet from distant space is all set to make its presence felt in our skies. Comet named ‘C/2021 O3’ is heading toward the inner planets of the solar system and is likely going to cross the skies over Earth by May this year.

The approaching comet was first discovered in July 2021. Currently, it is believed to be flying behind the Sun and is coming from the Oort Cloud, the most distant region of our solar system. The Oort Cloud is a giant shell engulfing the rest of the solar system.

Astronomers speculate that the comet C/2021 O3 might vapourize as it comes close to the Sun but If it survives, things might get exciting.

According to astronomers, the comet will be closest to Earth on May 8. It will come within the distance of 82 million kilometers from the green planet. It will be the comet’s first visit to the solar system after traveling millions of years in the universe.

When closest to our planet, the comet will not be visible to the naked eye but can be seen through binoculars.
