Elon Musk, owner of the aerospace engineering company SpaceX, has congratulated ISRO for the third successful long duration hot test of the Vikas Engine.
Vikas Engine would be helping the launch for the Ganganyaan programme. ISRO took to their official Twitter account to inform on the conduct of the test.
Musk wrote, "Congratulations!" with a an Indian flag emoji.
On Wednesday, the test was conducted successfully at Tamil Nadu’s Mahendragiri’s ISRO facility. The test was for the engine qualifications requirement for the ganganyaan programme. It was the hot test for the liquid propellant which had the core engine of L110 liquid stage human rated GSLV MkIII vehicle. The engine has met the parameters as it was closely watched by the experts for the entire duration of the test.
No official date has been announced for Ganganyaan but it seems that the first set will go in December 2021 and the second one is for 2022-2023.
