Google working on HPS for Chromebooks

The company is developing this new software in collaboration with a company named Antmicro

Google is reported to be working on a "Human Presence Sensor" (HPS) for the upcoming Chromebooks. The new technology can be used for the face unlocking and other Chrome OS features which were awaited by the users for a long time.

Google had given a hint earlier that it would provide new updates for Chromebooks. The Chromebook will have an eye-shaped icon in the system tray according to some rumours.

This feature is presently in early stages of development. The icon is said to be static but it is expected that Chrome OS will be having a different icon, depending on whether it can detect the presence of the user. The company is developing this new software in collaboration with a company named Antmicro.

Antmicro are working out on different aspects of the new update and are set to provide a user-friendly result.
