LG has announced that they have been acknowledged as an international certification institute to experiment the functional safety of the automotive software as they are planning to expand its business in the automotive sector.
The company's software testing center was accredited by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme. The lab will verify the ISO 26262-6 standard.
The ISO 26262-6 focuses on the safety of all the electronics and electrical systems installed in cars or other vehicles. It will cover any possible risks caused by malfunctioning behavior of such safety-related systems.
LG can now check the quality and safety of their advanced technologies in their own facilities and can develop quickly.
LG's certificate will be accepted in 70 countries which includes the US and Japan under the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation’s mutual recognition arrangement.
