The American company Microsoft on Saturday, said that they have fixed a severe flaw in it's cloud computing platform which was pointed out by cybersecurity researchers.
The researchers warned the company that this could have enabled hackers to take over a cloud-based database product used by many big companies and could harm the company.
Microsoft said that the flaw didn't cause any damage and there is no evidence that the opening was exploited by malicious users or that any customer data was exposed to the hacker.
Wiz, a cybersecurity firm, discovered the issue in Microsoft's Azure cloud platform and notified the tech giant in time so that the issue could be resolved.
Microsoft immediately took the matter in hands and seriously erased the issue in no time. They also rewarded the firm a hefty amount for the discovery.
If the bug was exploited by hackers, it could have affected thousands of organisations and could have seriously compromised the security of many firms including numerous Fortune 500 companies.
