Microsoft has finally brought the new Chromium-based Edge browser to Xbox One consoles and Xbox Series X/S with its September Xbox update.
It will introduce new features like access to Discord, Google Stadia, web apps etc.
The company stated that they were testing the Edge update on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S earlier this year and now are finally rolling out.
While the Edge has been the default browser on Xbox One, the latest Chromium version which enables features like Google Stadia gameplay was not.
The company said, "fast, secure and modern browsing experience right from your console."
The new feature is more or less identical to the desktop version and has features like vertical tabs, collections, favourites, history, tabs, syncing of settings and more to other signed-in devices. It won’t be able to use an ad-blocker for now.
It will be beneficial to the gamers with mouse and keyboard support and will find it far easier to use productivity apps.
