NASA's Mars rover set for second attempt to get rock sample

Citadelle will be the new location for the second shot at picking up the first rock sample

The Perseverance rover of NASA is all set to collect a rock sample from the surface of Mars in its second attempt.

 

Citadelle will be the new location for the second shot at picking up the first rock sample and to make sure the sample is actually collected the engineers will wait for images of the sample tube which will be storing the rock before it gets processed and inside the rover's belly.

 

On 30 July 2020, the Perseverance rover was launched and arrived at the red planet after a 203 days journey. In its first attempt the rover did exactly what it was intended to do but was unable due to many scientific and mechanical reasons.
