OnePlus is trying to strengthen its current partnership with Hasselblad, a Swedish manufacturer of cameras and photographic equipment, by releasing a new update that adds the Hasselblad's traditional XPan camera as a shooting mode for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro.
The new cinematic XPan mode had proved underwhelming on the OnePlus 9 Pro.
Till now, Hasselblad’s contribution focused more on only color reproduction but now it will take the quality to another level.
The XPan mode can be accessed by the user when they swipe up from the main Photo mode in the camera app.
The aspect ratio of 65:21 (8:3), with two very wide focal lengths of 30mm and 45mm is provided to the user. The 30mm shots come from the ultra-wide lens and 45mm shots come from the main camera. Users can get images at 20-megapixels or higher.
The user can also swipe up and down to adjust exposure and has the option to switch between color and black and white.
The company doesn’t allow users to add XPan to the preferred mode menu on the camera app and is treated as a special one that can only be accessed by swiping up.
The whole new latest update rolls out to all OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro devices starting 17 September, 2021.
