Pre-orders for iPhone 13 crossed two million in China

This significant demand for the new iPhone 13 models comes from the decline of Huawei in the country

More than two million pre-orders for the new Apple iPhone 13 have been placed by the customers in China. The orders surpassed the total number of iPhone 12 pre-orders in 2020.

According to tech experts, it happened  because of the void left by high end Huawei handsets in Chinese markets.

Previously, iPhone 12 had 1.5 million initial pre-orders and now it's successor has surpassed the number by a large margin.

This significant demand for the new iPhone 13 models comes from the decline of Huawei in the country. Also, the US trade sanctions acted as a catalyst for the downfall. The Chinese company is struggling to provide advanced high-end smartphones to its customers. Due to this issue, Huawei's latest models, P50 and P50 Pro, lack 5G connectivity.

Surprisingly, the iPhone 13 models are priced lower than iPhone 12  in China. It surprised many consumers. The devices are priced between 300 yuan to 800 yuan, which is cheaper than the iPhone 12.

Apple is trying to maintain its dominance in China. According to reports, in the second quarter of 2021, the American company is ranked as the fourth biggest smartphone vendor in China behind OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi.
