Micro-blogging site twitter is all set to discontinue its 'fleets' feature. The step comes after when the feature couldn't create buzz in the market like others, reports suggest.
From 3 August, fleets will no longer be available. It is being removed in less than a year of being launched.
When fleet was brought, it was assumed that more people would engage on Twitter. But since the time fleets is in action there wasn’t any visible effect as it was expected by the company, a statement by Twitter read.
There's no announcement though as to what it will be replaced by. However, reports suggested that the social media giant is working on a new feature.
The big step comes after Twitter already announced a month ago that they would be testing ads on fleets. As this will provide more options with the advertisers. Twitter also said they are going to test updates like full-screen camera, GIF stickers.
