Bats are like neighbour's wife: Dinesh Karthik

Harsha Bhogle had hailed the Indian wicket-keeper batsman for the way he aced the commentary challenge

Dinesh Karthik, the Indian popular cricketer is already gaining popularity as a commentator. A number of cricketers have made the switch to the commentary box and Karthik also seems to following the path.


Karthik gave his commentary during the ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand and continued to do so in the England vs Sri Lanka ODI series.


Karthik for the 2nd ODI between Sri Lanka and England as part of the Sky Sports panel, Karthik gives some commentary which became viral. Karthik drew similarities from batters' appreciation towards others' bats just like a man admires his neighbour's wife.


“Batsmen and not liking bats, they go hand in hand. Most of the batters don’t seem to like their bats. They either like another person’s bat, or…” Karthik could be heard as saying in the commentary box. “Bats are like a neighbour’s wife. They always feel better.”


The clip shared in Twitter user, where Karthik has garnered plenty of praise from fans and peers. Even Harsha Bhogle had hailed the Indian wicket-keeper batsman for the way he aced the commentary challenge in the WTC final.


In the match England secured a victory with 8 wickets in hand and 7 overs to spare. With the undisputable 2-0 lead, England have already won the 3-match series.
