Former mental conditioning coach of Team India advised players to have sex before match

Upton has made a startling revelation in his book 'The Barefoot Coach'.

Paddy Upton, the former mental conditioning coach for Team India, made a staggering revelation in his book ‘The Barefoot Coach’ that he had advised the players to have sex before the match.


Upton further wrote that his advised angered then-coach and former South Africa opener Gary Kirsten and later he had to apologize
for the same.


Allegedly, Upton was preparing notes during the 2009 Champions Trophy and that was the time he gave detailed notes to the players about the benefits of having sex before the match.


Upton worked with the Indian team from 2008 to 2011. Apart from this, he also served as the head coach of Pune Warriors in 2012, Rajasthan Royals for three years , and Delhi Daredevils for two editions in the Indian Premier League(IPL). He also served as a Chief Coach in Big Bash and Pakistan Super Leagues as well.
