IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings lift their fourth title

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) led by MS Dhoni has completed an incredible turn around in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

CSK is one of the most successful teams in the history of IPL seasons, and has once again proved why they are one of the best sides to have graced the tournament with a magnificent performance throughout the season.

 

Chennai Super Kings were the first team to secure a spot in the IPL playoffs and also the first to enter the final after an easy win over Delhi Capitals in the first Qualifier match.

 

Chennai got the better of KKR by 27 runs in the final to take their fourth IPL trophy.

 

CSK posted a strong total of 192 runs on the board after batting first in the final match of the tournament.

 

Despite getting off to a good start with their openers, KKR collapsed under pressure and lost few wickets in quick intervals to give away the game.

 

Their middle-order of KKR failed to deliver as CSK bowlers uproar to ensure a comprehensive win for the Yellow Army.

 

Dhoni led team remain the second most successful side in IPL tournament history in terms of trophies by taking four titles to their name. While, the Mumbai Indians still sits at the top with five IPL trophies.

 

CSK and Mumbai Indians are the only two teams who have won the title in back-to-back IPL seasons.

 

The two teams have dominated the IPL tournament over the past few years and share startling nine trophies between them out of the total 14 seasons.
