Jadeja expresses his interest in CSK captaincy after MSD's retirement; deletes tweet later

A CSK fan page on Twitter had inquired who should captain the team in the coming seasons after MSD retires

After Mahendra Singh Dhoni has announced his retirement from the international cricket, predictions has been centred on who would succeed him as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

MS Dhoni's time in the CSK is coming to an end soon, and the question of who will lead franchise-based league team once the wicketkeeper-batsman bids farewell that has already begun to take shape.

On a social media interaction ,all-rounder Indian player Ravindra Jadeja had wished to command CSK once MSD  retires.

However,  the pacer had soon removed his tweet.

A CSK fan page on Twitter had inquired who should captain the team in the coming seasons after MSD retires.

In response to the question, Jadeja typed number 8 in the comment section of the post, that refers to his own jersey number.

Ravindra Jadeja, a Gujarat-born batsman had immediately deleted his tweet, but was late as screenshots had already been taken.

Jadeja is regarded as one of the most prolific all-rounders across the world, and his ability to single-handedly impact the game makes him a safe bet for South Indian team.

Jadeja has played a total of 191 matches in the IPL since its start in 2008. The pacer has scored 2,290 runs at an average of 26.62 and has took 120 wickets at an average of 30.25.

In this year IPL edition, Jadeja has already scored 131 runs in 7 games at an average of 131.

The IPL 2021 is concerned, CSK is comfortably placed in the second position on the points table. The tournament was postponed after the outbreak second wave of COVID-19.
