KKR has fined For Slow Over Rate Against MI

The win took the two-time former champion in the top-four in the points table on Thursday

The Kolkata Knight Riders' captain Eoin Morgan and his team have been fined for the side's slow-over rate at its seven-wicket win over Mumbai Indians on Thursday in an Indian Premier League (IPl), 2021 match in UAE.

 

As per to an official statement issued by IPL, Morgan has been fined rupees 24 lakh while rest of his team mates in the playing XI were each fined lesser of either rupees 6 lakh or 25 percent of their fee.

 

The statement said, "The Kolkata Knight Riders have been fined after they maintained a slow over rate during their IPL 2021 match against Mumbai Indians at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi on September 23."

 

As it was KKR's second offence of this IPL season under the league’s Code of Conduct relating to at least over rate offences, KKR's captain Eoin Morgan was fined rupees 24 lakhs.

 

The team had given a rational performance for the second successive game since IPL's resumed and won the match against Mumbai Indians by seven wickets.

 

The win took the two-time former champion in the top-four in the points table on Thursday.

 

KKR will next play against Chennai Super Kings led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni on September 26.
