The Rohini court has reserved its decision on the anticipatory bail plea of India's two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar in connection with the Chhatrasal Stadium scuffle that led to the death of a wrestler in New Delhi on Tuesday evening.
Sushil Kumar has been accused and absconding since the death of another wrestler Sagar Rana on May 5. An FIR of murder, abduction and criminal conspiracy was registered against him.
Earlier on Monday, the Delhi Police had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Sushil Kumar. Last week, a Delhi Court had issued non-bailable warrants against Sushil Kumar and six others in connection in connection with same case after a lookout notice was issued against him.
Delhi Police had also raiding his house but return empty handed. Later found out that Sushil went to Haridwar and then to Rishikesh while trying to escape an arrest. Raids were being conducted in the Delhi-NCR region and neighbouring states to catch him.
The case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act at the Model Town Police Station.
