Pak records highest total in T20I cricket history

Shaheen Shah Afridi was the man of match, takes three for 30 as England fall 31 runs short

Pakistan recorded a new highest total of 232 in T20Is at Trent Bridge on Friday against England. Pakistan previous best was 205 against the West Indies in Karachi in 2018. This total by Pakistan is also the third-highest total by any team against England in T20Is. The country lost an exciting opening of Twenty20 against Pakistan by 31 runs.

An opening partnership of 150 runs in just 15 overs between Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan has helped Pakistan to a 31-run win over England in their Twenty20 international.

Babar Azam hit 85 runs from 49 balls and Mohammad Rizwan 63 runs from 41 in a Pakistan record total of 232 runs on 6 wickets at Trent Bridge.

On the other side, England lost its four wickets in the first seven overs but found a new star in Liam Livingstone who powered his way into his career best 103 runs. Lian made a century in just 42 balls, the fastest by an Englishman in T20s, arrived with his ninth six which is more than the rest of the team combined.

Although he was out next ball to a boundary catch by Shaheen Shah Afridi. Lian was one of five catches on the boundary, two of them taken by Shaheen.

Shaheen also contributed 3 wickets and 30 runs including a caught and bowled, in a player of the match performance.

Pakistan bounce back from the ODI humiliation after being forced to bat first. The second T20 cricket match on Sunday is at Leeds.
