Bumrah, Thakur, Jadeja script History at The Oval


If Lord’s was special, today’s win at The Oval is spectacular. An all-round incredible effort from the Indian cricket team has helped them pull off a historic comeback win over England on the fifth and final day of Ind vs Eng 4th Test today.


The victory meant India took a 2-1 lead in the series with one game to go in Manchester.

The trio of Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur sparked a dramatic collapse on the final day of the fourth Test at the Oval.


Bumrah etched his name on the history books by becoming the fastest Indian pacer to reach 100 Test wickets. Before this, Kapil Dev held the record, getting to the feat in 25 Tests, but the World Cup winning captain's record was bettered by Bumrah, who picked up his 100th Test scalp in his 24th game.


Jadeja completed the double of scoring 500 runs and taking 50 Test wickets against England, becoming the fourth Indian achieve the feat.


Meanwhile, Thakur became only the sixth batsman in Test history to make 50+ scores in each innings of a Test match while batting at 8. Thakur emulates fellow Indian cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Wriddiman Saha.


Overall, India have been magnificent this evening winning the Test match by 157 runs. They have made a remarkable comeback after having faced an embarrassing loss in Leeds. After being bowled out for just 191 runs in the first innings, Team India bounced back strong and hard in their second innings to pose a daunting 366-run total.
