Sindhu kickstart with an easy straight-game win over Israel's Ksenia Polikarpova in women's singles group J match on Sunday.
Sindhu seeded 6th rankand beated the 58th ranked Polikarpova 21-7 21-10 in a lop-sided opening match.
PV Sindhu after the win said, "Even though it was an easy first match I didn't take it in an easy way. It wasn't like I wasn't prepared. Every time, it is very important to be focused and be prepared for every single point in every single match."
The silver medallist in Rio Games started on an attacking note but briefly found herself lagging points 3-4. However, she quickly took a lead with Polikarpova after making unforced errors.
The star badminton player quickly entered with a 11-5 lead after break and used her trademark straight and cross court smashes and drops to trouble the Israeli's Polikarpova.
The world ranked number 7 will next play against Hong Kong's world number 34 Cheung Ngan Yi.
