Officials reported that two-athletes have tested positive for the virus in Tokyo games village.
This is raising a lot of questions on the successful running of the game. The President of The International Olympic Committee has said that in total 15 people have been tested positive relating to the operation of the games. He also said that these games are not a threat to the people of Japan in spite of cases coming up in the athletes’ village.
Between July 1 to 16 officials, athletes, support staff, media personnel rounding up to more than 15,000 have landed in Tokyo. Out of which only 15 were tested positive on arrival or at screening. Those who have been tested positive have been shifted to isolation.
The names of the athletes who have been tested positive have been released by the officials yet.
This year's Olympics is to be held in Tokyo, Japan starting from July 23 and ending on August 8.
