Virender Sehwag Names Indian All-rounder Who Can 'Make The Match One-sided' Against Pakistan

With the upcoming match, there are a lot of doubts over Hardik Pandya’s inclusion in the XI due to his bowling fitness

The former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has praised Hardik Pandya and put his weight behind the all-rounder’s names in playing against Pakistan.

The Virat Kohli led team India will illuminate their competition with Pakistan on Sunday, October 24 in the ICC T20 World Cup clash.

With the upcoming match, there are a lot of doubts over Hardik Pandya’s inclusion in the XI due to his bowling fitness.

Virendra Sehwag, the one of the most destructive players of his era, backed Hardik Pandya to get a place in the final XI as a batter for his ability to win the match on his own.

Sehwag while speaking to Cricbuzz, has said, “He’ll be on my team. The kind of batter he is, if he clicks, he’ll make the match one-sided, and finish it," and added that Pandya has the ability which he has proven many times.

Sehwag also added,  "Yes, if he was bowling fit, that would have been the icing on the cake."

The veteran opener further said, “You should go with five bowlers plus if Hardik Pandya or someone else from the top-order bowls a few overs, it’ll be the perfect team for me."

Hardik Pandya hasn’t bowled a single over in the IPL 2021 and ICC T20 WC warm-up matches which might put his position in the final XI under vulnerability.

Although, the former opener said that the extravagant all-rounder, Hardik will be his first pick if he is batting well in the nets.

Sehwag stated, “His batting is surely a concern. If he’s not in form or not batting well in the nets, then you can maybe see another batter, otherwise, he’ll be my first pick."

The rip roaring clash will commence India and Pakistan’s campaign in T20 WC 2021 and both the teams will look to start it on a high to set the pitch for the rest of the tournament.
