India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted 'generally cloudy sky with moderate rain' for the city on Monday but Jammu & Kashmir including Srinagar received rainfall the same morning.

The IMD took to Twitter on Monday and wrote that the very intense convection also includes sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura and other neighbouring areas
The IMD tweet further says, "It leads to the possibility of moderate to intense spell(s) of rainfall along with Thunderstorms and lightning during the next 2-3 hours."
While in the national capital, Delhi continued to receive very heavy rainfall, the transportation also have been affected in several parts as roads were waterlogged.
