Small fishes started falling from the with the heavy rain in Chauri area of the district.
It’s common to see hail storms with rain but it is rare to witness fish rain and the local residents were surprised to see fish rain and a few of them even panicked.
The local people has collected around fifty kilograms of fish but threw it away in ponds and pits fearing the fishes being poisonous.
According to the reports by local media, small fishes started falling from the sky on Monday during the rain showers that was accompanied by heavy wind near Kandhiya Gate area of Chauri.
As soon as the news of fishes spreaded, the locals started collecting the fish and many excited villagers collected fishes from rooftops, fields, orchards and other open areas.
As per to weather experts, this may have happened due to the formation of a low pressure area.
The weather experts said that the cyclonic wind formed near the river, pond and other water bodies also blows away the fish and these types of surprising incidents can happen in the surrounding areas during the downpour.
The villagers who collected the fishes in excitement has threw it away as some of the fishes looked different in colour and size.
