A passenger boat sank after a collision on Friday in a large pond in Bangladesh that was carrying over hundred people and officials said 21 people were dead and about 50 missing.
A local police official said that sinking occurred in the Bijoynagar area of Brahmanbaria district on Friday's evening.
The official said that rescuers had recovered not less than 21 bodies and 15 were rescued, while survivors said about 100 people were on boat.
According to a local news reports, the Bijoynagar area's top government administrator had said that nearly 50 people were missing.
The area is over 82 kilometers east to the Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka.
Bangladesh is a coastal nation where water transport is largely used to move people and goods, but deadly accidents are usual because of untrained operation and poor implementation of safety rules.
