A strong earthquake shook the Philippines on Saturday, the US Geological Survey reported, but it was deep, and local authorities said they did not expect damage.
This region falls in the ‘Pacific Ring of Fire’ due to which earthquakes are more prone in this region. Residents of the area were awakened by the shake which did lasted for about a minute.
The aftershocks were felt far away having a depth of 116 kilometres. However, there isn’t any threat of tsunami as of now yet.
No casualties and loss of property have been recorded till now.
