Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Bill Gates and Melinda French who had filed for divorce earlier on May nearly after 30 years of marriage was finalised on Monday.
Bill and Melinda, became the second high profile billionaire couple to file a divorce after Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Bezos separation in 2019.
Bill Gates and Melinda French announced their divorce on the social media platform, Twitter.
Amidst a uncontrollable number of speculations regarding their divorce, there have been a number of reports that spotlighted Gates questionable behaviour at the workplace.
As per a recent report by a leading global daily, The New York Times stated that Bill Gates used to pursue women who worked at Microsoft and his foundation on many occasions.
The couple have said that they would continue to work together at their charitable foundation and also had an agreement on how to divide their marital assets.
As reported by the Reuters, the details of the agreement were not disclosed in Monday’s order which was filed at the King County Superior Court in Washington’s Seattle.
The King County Superior court has also not issued property, money or any spousal judgement in the divorce of the billionaire couple but said that both should compile with the terms of the contract which was not filed.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is well known for praiseworthy work in the area of global public health and has spent over USD 50 billion in over 20 years.
In 2020, when the world witnessed the emergence of the contagious virus, Covid-19 pandemic, the foundation committed USD 1.75 billion to disease relief.
