With the hike of COVID Delta variant, Canada has extended the flight ban to India till August 21. Delta variant of COVID was found in India for the first time and it has been spreading the most in Canada’s neighbour country, the USA.
The flight's operation was stopped in April when the country was hit by a second wave of coronavirus.
Canadian Transport Minister Omar Alghabra said that this ban has been extended because of the spread of Delta variant, which is resulting in increasing numbers in cases amongst various countries.
He also added that the situation in India is still serious and this decision has been taken on the advisory from the Public Health Agency of Canada. They will protect the Canadians from the Delta variant, the most prevalent in India.
