In a tragic incident that has taken place in US school, a girl opened fire at a school injuring three people before being disarmed by a teacher on Thursday.
The incident has taken place in the north western US state of Idaho where an unnamed student at Rigby Middle School near Idaho Falls who was in the sixth grade, probably aged 11 or 12 open fires at school.
She retrieved a handgun from her backpack, fired multiple rounds inside of the school and out but the injuries suffered by two students and one staff member are not thought to be life-threatening. One of the teacher disarmed the student, and detained her until law enforcement took her into custody. The investigation is started by the FBI as well as local law enforcement.
The school shooting is not the new case in US, the country has suffered mass shootings in recent weeks, including at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis, an office building in California, a grocery store in Colorado and at several spas in Atlanta.
President Joe Biden said that gun violence in US is "epidemic" and an "international embarrassment". According to the Gun Violence Archive of US there were more than 43,000 gun-related deaths in the United States last year.
