The United States will honor the 75th Indian Independence Day by illuminating three buildings in the US, including the One World Trade Center, which will be illuminated in the colours of India's national flag on Sunday. The other two buildings are One Bryant Park and One Five One.
The event is funded by South Asian Engagement Foundation and will be collaborating with the Durst Organisation to light up the One World Trade Center’s 408 feet tall building on Independence day.
The foundation, in a press release said, “This initiative commemorates the world’s largest democracy - India entering its 75th year of Independence”.
In a different effort, Federation of Indian Association has said it will hoist the biggest tricolour at Times Square in New York on 15 August. They said the 6 feet by 10 feet tricolour placed on a 25 feet pole will be unfurled by them to show the love and respect of the country.
