Morocco's King, Mohammed VI appoints the new Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch with a task to form a new government in the country, a statement by the Royal Cabinet announced on Friday.
Aziz Akhannouch is the President of the National Rally of Independents (RNI).
The statement added that this appointment takes place following with the constitutional provisions, and on the basis of the results of the legislative elections on September 8, 2021.
The news agency Xinhua reported that Akhannouch, the 61-year-old has served as the Minister of Agriculture from 2007 to 2017.
Aziz Akhannouch's RNI party, dominated the legislative, municipal and regional elections on September 8.
Wednesday's elections has put an end to the rule of the Justice and Development Party, which has been running in an union government since 2011.
