Nazira Administration to impose Sec 144 following which some stringent measures to check on outbreak of African Swine Fever

The outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Nazira has prompted the Nazira Administration to impose Section 144 CrPC with some stringent measures for the safety of the entire subdivision.


The order issued by Sabyasachee Kashyap, Additional District Magistrate & Nazira Subdivision that stated the ban was imposed after receiving information from the District Veterinary Officer, Sivasagar and test report from NERDDL that the Swine Fever has been confirmed in the Pig Farm that is owned by Indrajit of Luthuri Gaon at Simaluguri town in Ward 6.


As per the statement , selling or buying of pork and pork production and pig slaughter within 1 km radius of the said epicenter are also prohibited that is house of Indrajit has been banned.


Any death of the pigs within tha said radius of the epicenter should be informed to the Veterinary Department and corpse should be deeply buried taking all biological security measures.


This statement further said that all pig producers or breeders must maintain strict biological security measures to prevent any spread of African Swine Fever disease.
