Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan tested COVID-19 positive on Saturday just two days after he received a dose of the Chinese vaccine Sinovac. The news was announced by the nation`s health minister Faisal Sultan. Currently, Imran is "self isolating at home," the minister wrote in a tweet. The Prime Minister's Office too confirmed the development.
The 68-year-old had taken China's Sinovac vaccine two days ago on March 18. He recived the first shot of vaccination against coronavirus and urged the citizens of his country to ensure the full implementation of norms to prevent the surge in cases of coronavirus.
The South Asian nation of 220 million is seeing a sharp rise in the coronavirus infections.
