Porn pops up on prominent news websites like HuffPost, Washington Post

Porn appeared on prominent news portals like Huffington Post, New York magazine and many other websites.

Porn showed up in third party implants in some of the regular websites after a porn company purchased the domain of a inoperative video hosting site.

The pornographic content appeared on Huffington Post, New York magazine, The Washington Post, The Verge and many other websites.

The Pornographic company '5 Star HD Porn' had bought the expired domain for Vidme which went out of business in 2017.

The Verge said it found one such implant and since it had disabled it. Motherboard has reported that vid.me now implants to redirect to the 5 Star Porn HD homepage, the site also redirects there.

There was no response from the pornographic company when Motherboard requested for a comment on the matter.

Reportedly, an archived version of New York magazine article about former US House Majority leader John Boehner's "creepy kissy face," is one of the pages where the porn popped up and that there was previously a vid.me implant on the page, the page's source code shows the same.

The Motherboard report further said that it was not clear what caused the implantation of the videos but it was likely that Vidme videos displayed the homepage of the pornographic company rather than the original videos.
