A women's madrasa in Islamabad raised flags of the insurgent group Taliban on their rooftop. The flags of the group who took control of Afghanistan were later taken down by the administration.
The name of the madrasa is Jamia Hafsa which is linked to Lal Masjid situated in the center of Islamabad. Several photos and videos of children holding Taliban flags and reciting 'Salam Taliban' circulated and went viral in the social media.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat said that those flags were not allowed to be hoisted and were removed from the place.
Lal Masjid was always a place of controversy as it was the ground zero of a confrontation between Islamic fundamentalists and the Pakistan government in 2007 and since has been under the surveillance of the police for a long time.
