'Harry Potter' star Paul Ritter dies of brain tumour

He acted in several films like Quantum of Solace and award winning Chernobyl etc

In tragic news to all Harry Potter fans Paul Ritter, who starred in the 2009 film ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’, has passed away after battling brain tumour on Monday (5 April 2021). He was only 54.


He also had proved his acting brilliance in other films like Half-Blood Prince and Quantum of Solace and displayed his range with a terrifying performance as Anatoly Dyatlov in the multi-award winning Chernobyl. 


The British actor was popularly known as wizard Eldred Worple in the ‘Harry Potter’.


Ritter’s representative said in a statement which says  "It is with great sadness we can confirm that Paul Ritter passed away last night, he died peacefully at home with his wife Polly and sons Frank and Noah by his side. He was 54 and had been suffering from a brain tumour.”


The message also adds "Paul was an exceptionally talented actor playing an enormous variety of roles on stage and screen with extraordinary skill. He was fiercely intelligent, kind and very funny. We will miss him greatly."
