Are we heading towards another world crisis amidst the rise of worldwide pandemic? The experts are to be believed, a World War will begin in a month's time between Russia and Ukraine. According to the prediction of the experts the conflict could led into a war within four weeks' time.
Europe has been on a high alert since the Russia-Ukraine border crisis deepened. Defence analyst Pavel Felgenhauer expressed his concern after President Vladimir Putin deployed up to 4,000 Russian soldiers along with tanks and other armoured vehicles to the disputed border with its neighbour. According to him “The crisis has the potential to escalate into a pan-European war, if not even a world one."
Felgenhauer's remarks follow Russia's warnings to NATO that the country will take 'military measures' if NATO troops are dispatched in the tensions led region. NATO, meanwhile, warned Moscow against formally deploying military troops into Ukrainian territory as a war-like scene on the Russia-Ukraine border put Europe on high alert.
The United States pledged 'unwavering support' to Ukraine, Russian fighter aircraft, helicopters, artillery, and army tanks amassed on the border.
It is also reported that Russia is building up armed forces near Ukraine’s borders in a threat to the country’s security, accusing Moscow of pursuing an “aggressive policy” towards Kyiv. In remarks to parliament, Khomchak also accused pro-Moscow separatists of systematically violating a ceasefire in the conflict in eastern Ukraine agreed in July 2020.
Ukraine and Russia have been blame for a spike in violence in the conflict, which Kyiv says has killed 14,000 people since 2014.
The Ukrainian crisis had all began in November 2013, when President Viktor Yanukovych rejected a deal for greater integration with the European Union. This had led to mass protest in the country which was attempted to put down violently by President Viktor Yanukovych.
In this struggle for power Russia backed Yanukovych in the crisis, while the US and Europe supported the protesters. In next year the anti-government protests toppled the government and ran Yanukovych out of the country. Russia took the advantage and invaded and annexed Crimea following that. This conflict between two has been following since then.
